Another World in AI – Metaverse!
As I said before, AI started by creating logic using mathematics, giving it as input to a machine, teaching the machine, and making it work. This began in our country in the 1990s. Can you believe that computers run because of AI technology? A machine has no intelligence of its own. AI (Artificial Intelligence) is the technology that makes machines work intelligently.
If you think about it, many things we use at home like washing machines or water motors that stop automatically when the tank is full – these work because of AI. But we never called it AI, so it was not spoken about much.
AI started as a small point, but today it has grown enormously and is now flying into another world called Metaverse. This also works using AI. People don’t fully understand this technology yet, but the time when it will rule us is not far.
Metaverse tricks our eyes and makes our brain believe. It also uses sound for our ears and smell for our nose to make us feel like we are in a magical world.
We can do everything there that we do in real life. We can even do things that are impossible in real life. For example, if we want to see our relatives who have passed away, it can be possible there.
Metaverse is a world that runs on the internet, like our real world. We already call the internet a virtual or digital world. So how is Metaverse different? It is almost like the virtual world but much closer to humans.
Today, in the digital world, banks, schools, hotels, shops, and hospitals all have websites. We access them from outside using mobiles, tablets, or laptops by entering usernames and passwords.
But to enter the Metaverse world, we need a digital token (NFT) and an Avatar. The token is like our password there. Our avatar is a 3D model of us. By wearing special glasses and headsets, we can enter the Metaverse and enjoy its benefits. Our avatar will do the work inside the Metaverse for us. It will act based on what we say, do, or think in real life. This is a world beyond imagination.
In today’s virtual world, we stay outside and use websites. But in the coming Metaverse, we will not stay outside. We will go inside the digital world through our avatar. This is the big difference between the two.
Just like in the 1990s when companies proudly said, “We are a computerised firm,” soon companies will say, “We are a Metaverse-enabled firm.”
So, let’s start learning to use AI technology and get ready to work in that world!
